Mode of action

Pendimethalin absorbed by roots and plantlets restrains cell division and growth in meristems of sensitive weeds. Treated weeds perish soon after emergence or after sprouts crop out. Emergence itself is not inhibited.

Protective period

Depending on soil and climatic conditions - 8 to 10 weeks, throughout the vegetation period virtually.

Speed of action

Weeds die at the emergence stage. Sprouts die in 3 or 4 days.

Range of inhibited weeds

Annual grass and dicotyledonous weeds

Sensitive species: speedwell (species), pepper plant (species), charlock, bur grass, satin flower, common orach, copper rose, pigweed (species), loose silky bent, rough-stalked bluegrass, field scorpion grass, sow thistle (species), caseweed, field chamomile, wild radish, mayweed, sorgho (species), field pansy, foxtail (species), amaranth (species).

Moderately sensitive species: common fumitory, velvetleaf, foxtail grass, houndsberry, catch weed, crabgrass, day-nettle.

Application technique. Mix preparation method 

Fill the sprayer tank with water to 1/3 and slowly add the required preparation dose. Stir the mix by turning the sprayer agitator on. Top up to the required mix volume and again turn the agitator on for 10-15 min. During treatment, the hydraulic agitator of the sprayer shall be kept going. Use the prepared mix immediately after preparation. After treatment with the herbicide, thoroughly rinse the sprayer tank with water and soda ash.
Use ground-based boom sprayers OPSh-15-01, OPV-1200-01, ON-400, OP-2000-2-01, or similar.
Prepare the mix and fill the sprayer on dedicated sites that are disinfected afterwards. 

Compatibility

Not required, general-purpose herbicide.

Potential for resistance

None.

Phytotoxicity 

When used with recommended consumption rates, no adverse effect are exercised on crops protected.

Recommendations on protection of valuable flora and fauna objects 

The preparation is of low hazard to bees and fish – Hazard Class 3.
Basic provisions of the ‘Guidelines for preventing bee poisoning with pesticides’ and following environmental regulations:
treat plants at wind speed up to 4 or 5 m/sec;
protection boundary zone for bees – min. 2-3 km;
bee’s flight time limitation – 3-4 hours.
Warn apiary owners 4 or 5 days before treatment.
Do not use the preparation in private farms, by aerial method and within the sanitary zone of fishery water bodies 500 m away from the flood line in case of maximum floodwater level, but not closer than 2 km to the existing banks.

Transport and storage conditions
Comply with all conventional rules of toxic and explosive substance transport. Keep the preparation in a room dedicated for pesticide storage. Storage temperature range - minus 15⁰C to plus 40⁰C. Stir before use.
